Manufacturing Engineer
Utilizes engineering, lean manufacturing, and variation minimization techniques to develop and implement processes and tooling for the fabrication of parts, finishing and assembly, components, subassemblies, and final products. Leads manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives. Develops work instructions, procedures and illustrations. Estimates manufacturing costs, determines production standards and makes recommendations for tooling and processing requirements. Actively involved in the purchase of capital equipment. Maximizes efficiency, quality, and productivity of existing production lines and processes utilizing value stream mapping techniques and robust engineering principles.

• Leads equipment and facility-related projects, including planning, analysis, proposal, execution, and communication.
• Develops sequences of operation and work instructions.
• Trains production associates as processes are modified and improved.
• Completes ECO/ECN functions as they pertain to changes in the production of products.
• Plans and implements the production of new products and processes, as well as modification or expansion to existing ones, into the manufacturing operation to ensure quality products are produced efficiently and safely.
• Estimates production costs and develops manufacturing plans for new products or modifications to existing products and/or processes.
• Develops and maintains production-related performance metrics.
• Determines production capacities and manpower requirements for each department and product family.
• Identifies production problems and develops corrections and improvements to shop efficiency.
• Audits and corrects, as necessary, the production standards, methods, and parameters.
• Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications, and analyzes technical data to determine specifications.
• Analyzes, develops, and recommends design approaches required to meet production requirements for new or improved products.
• BS in Manufacturing Engineering, or other applicable field, or equivalent.

Minimum of five (5) years of applicable and diversified experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a metal fabrication environment.
In depth training and experience/implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
Experience managing facility-related activities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP systems.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing to travel domestically 25-50%.
