Work Experience Required: Must have familiarity with firearms prior to employment; Preferred: Three (3) to five (5) years of related security, military, law enforcement, or public safety experience

Armed Security Guard Job Description

The Armed Security Guard is responsible for providing professional armed security services at assigned client locations through active patrol, monitoring, incident response, and enforcement of company and client policies. This role maintains a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, protect people and property, and respond appropriately to emergencies and disturbances. Officers are expected to demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, discipline, alertness, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal communication at all times while carrying a firearm and representing Denver Metro Security, Inc.

Maintain a visible and professional armed security presence to deter criminal activity, unauthorized activity, and policy violations

Monitor buildings, grounds, parking areas, and access points for safety and security concerns

Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity, hazards, damages, and policy violations

Enforce client rules, company policies, post orders, and applicable laws within assigned authority

Safely carry, secure, retain, and operate company-approved firearms and required duty equipment

Request assistance from law enforcement, emergency medical services, or supervisors when appropriate

Document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and investigations using company-approved systems

Immediately report significant incidents, injuries, use-of-force situations, equipment concerns, and client issues to supervisors

Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, client information, incidents, and investigations

Follow all company policies, procedures, training requirements, and use-of-force standards

Maintain all required certifications, firearm qualifications, and licensing requirements for armed security work

Report vehicle accidents, citations, damages, and driving incidents immediately to management

Work assigned schedules, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require

Maintain open availability for full-time scheduling considerations

Accept reassignment to different posts, patrol assignments, or client sites based on operational needs

Report writing and documentation skills

Defensive tactics and firearm safety awareness

This position operates in a variety of environments, including patrol assignments, client facilities, parking lots, outdoor locations, and static security posts. Assignments may be indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, changing environments, and potentially stressful situations. Officers may work independently or alongside other security personnel.
