The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. We are looking for a Solution Engineer. This position will be remote based.
As a Solutions Engineer for the Solution Engineering team , you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and business. Solution Design: Realize the functional concept of power distribution solutions in a project by detailing technical solutions that satisfy the specified requirements of the customer.
Define the products, components and systems to be used and their specific characteristics based on project requirements and industrial standards
Develop and configure detailed power distribution systems as pre-integrated solution for seamless integration and ensure the interaction of the individual elements as a functioning unit.
May direct the executing units (e.g. manufacturing, procurement, logistics).
Quality Assurance: Ensure solutions meet quality standards, scalability, and performance requirements during design phase and in solution delivery by monitoring and tracking quality with sub suppliers prior installation and commissioning at customer site.
Industry knowledge and application of medium and low voltage networks, including, MV Switchgear, Motor starter, Low Voltage MCC, Switchboards, LV switchgear, Transformer, Protection and Automation functionality, and Network Communication.
Customer Engagement:
Post-Sales: Ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction. Participate / run design review meetings with the customer. Organize and run Factory Acceptance Tests w/wo customer participation with our sub suppliers. Support our field service team and customers during installation and commissioning phase as the support contact for all engineering related questions.
Provide updates to senior management on solution engineering initiatives, progress, and challenges.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to solution delivery in close alignment with project managers.
Project Team: Closely align with Siemens project team members and sub suppliers to ensure high quality solution delivery (primarily project managers, product engineers, procurement experts and sub suppliers)
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering degree

• 3+ years of experience with turnkey projects in medium voltage, low voltage, process automation, drives, and inverter applications is beneficial
• SieOps (salesforce); Autodesk suite, Microsoft Office, MS Teams
• Knowledge of NEC, IBC, IFC codes and application of LV and MV systems

Preferred areas of expertise are field service or turnkey solution engineering
Technical project management experience is considered beneficial as well
