Morris Packaging is a manufacturer of sustainable, flexible packaging products such as bags, pouches, and rollstock. Develops specifications and performance requirements for production equipment.

Calculates cost analysis for integrating new equipment into the manufacturing process.

Uses programming knowledge and experience to adapt equipment to specific job applications.

Works with Continuous Improvement Manager to prepare operating instructions and programs for equipment.

Oversees installation of machinery and equipment to ensure they function according to specifications.

Evaluates equipment to ensure it can complete desired functions.

Analyzes alternative techniques and methods and recommends changes to equipment or procedures as needed.

Establishes schedule of procedures and maintenance routines to ensure equipment operates efficiently.

Shares technical information and training with other departments.

Training development and delivery.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate‑controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.

This is a full‑time position. Days, nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and production requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.

Travel

Travel is not required for this position.

Post secondary education in Electrical Engineering.

Extensive knowledge of engineering and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.

Proficient with computer industrial design systems.

Proficient with computer design systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Experience in PLC, HMI, and knowledge of control systems.

Good electrical troubleshooting skills.
