FULL-TIME AND/OR SUBSTITUTE POSITION: The job of Security Officer is done for the purpose/s of protecting the safety and welfare of students, personnel, facilities, and grounds during classroom and non-classroom activities; and reporting security violations and incidents during assigned shift.

Graduation from high school OR General Education Development (GED) equivalent.

Successful completion of SB 390 training and certification , which has been approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), Bureau of Security and Investigation Services (BSIS) with the Commission of Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). Anyone employed on or after July 1, 2021, must submit proof of training and certification (Senate Bill No. Valid California Class C Driver's License .

Every regular classified employee, probationary or permanent, can earn paid sick leave credit(s) based on one day for each month in which such employees are in a paid status with the District. Full-time classified employees (those who work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, and 12 months per year) will normally earn twelve (12) days of sick leave credit(s) during each fiscal year.
