Physical Therapist Assistant

Altru Performance Center 1375 S. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for the treatment of patients under the supervision of the Physical Therapist in compliance with licensure standards. The Physical Therapist Assistant works with an interdisciplinary team contributing to patient goal development and identifying barriers to discharge. The assistant provides patient centered care and assists the Physical Therapist in planning and organizing the plan of care for the patient.

Orients patients, family and/or other appropriate parties to the purpose and procedures of the physical therapy evaluation and treatment. Provides appropriate patient/family education and teaching, under the supervision of a Therapist.

Obtains and documents appropriately all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care.

Provides intervention, evaluation and documentation of goal progress, modifies intervention methods as need, and works with therapy team members to achieve patients' goal.

Language Requirements:

This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.

Continuously (67-100%)• Outdoor: Persons who drive as their main responsibility OR transport passengers or hazardous materials.
