About the Position

Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients including those with Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hematology conditions, Radiation Oncology, and Gynecologic Oncology diagnoses
Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens following proper handling precautions including use of PPE, and monitor patients for medication side effects
Manage set-rate drips including heparin and 24-hour chemotherapy infusions such as Methotrexate
Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care technicians to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios based on unit census
Document patient care accurately using Epic Beacon EMR
Participate in float rotation to general medical units as needed for periods of four hours or more
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
Demonstrated experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration including safe handling precautions
Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience working in an acute oncology inpatient setting
Familiarity with Epic Beacon EMR for oncology documentation
Experience caring for patients receiving radiation oncology or gynecologic oncology treatments
