Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU
The PCU RN provides intermediate care for patients requiring closer monitoring than standard medical-surgical units but not full ICU support. The role includes telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, and coordinating care with the broader team for safe transitions.
The nurse supports timely escalation when patient status changes and collaborates on discharge planning with the care team.
Monitor hemodynamics, vitals, and telemetry; Administer medications, IV therapies, and oxygen as ordered.
Provide ongoing assessments and adjust care plans with the multidisciplinary team.
Coordinate with physicians, case managers, and rehab services to plan discharge.
Document assessments, interventions, and discharge instructions in the EHR.
Associate degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
Telemetry or advanced cardiac life support knowledge preferred
Experience in progressive care or step-down units; Med/Surg or step-down unit experience
Telemetry monitoring experience
Progressive care unit with telemetry and intermittent higher-acuity needs; shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends.
