Surgery - Surgeon (Physician #)

The Vascular Surgeon provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with diseases of the arterial, venous, and lymphatic systems. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, operative and non-operative management of vascular conditions, and perioperative care, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients with vascular diseases including peripheral arterial disease, aneurysmal disease, carotid artery disease, venous disorders, and dialysis access needs

Perform open and endovascular vascular surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges

Provide non-operative management of vascular conditions, including medical therapy and surveillance

Manage perioperative and postoperative care, including complications and long-term follow-up

Participate in emergency and on-call coverage for vascular surgery services

Collaborate with cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, wound care, primary care, and other specialties

Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes

Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and care planning meetings

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives

Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and trainees as applicable

Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school

Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program

Completion of an accredited vascular surgery fellowship or integrated vascular surgery residency

Board-eligible or board-certified in Vascular Surgery

Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure

DEA registration or eligibility

Ability to manage complex and high-risk surgical patients

Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety

Hospital operating rooms, endovascular suites, outpatient clinics, and inpatient units

Call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures

Manual dexterity and physical stamina for operative cases

Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care

Requirements

Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.

Be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned
