Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department treating 75+ patients per day, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Manage and monitor common diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, dyspnea, headache, and traumatic injuries
Administer and monitor common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia agents
Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices
Participate in triage, fast track, and psychiatric/seclusion room patient care as assigned
Fulfill weekend and holiday scheduling requirements; self-scheduling and block scheduling are available
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification required
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required
Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
Clinicians must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Level III Trauma Center or Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
Familiarity with phlebotomy and lab draws in an emergency setting
Experience working in departments with dedicated fast track, triage, and psychiatric/seclusion areas
Comfort working alongside respiratory therapy, in-house security, and multidisciplinary ED teams
