Respiratory Care - Respiratory Therapist - RRT PRN Nights

Responsibilities

Medical City Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist (PRN) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this flexible, as‑needed role, you will deliver high‑quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of acute and critical care settings, including emergency, medical‑surgical, and intensive care units. You will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, administer and monitor oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy, and manage patients requiring non‑invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.

Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, you will help develop and adjust individualized respiratory care plans, respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and codes, and assist with airway management, including intubation support and weaning from ventilators. You will set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, document all interventions accurately in the electronic medical record, and ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards.

Qualifications & Availability

The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, clear communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit assignments. You should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing positively to a collaborative, learning‑oriented environment. As a PRN therapist, you will have the opportunity to pick up shifts based on department needs and your availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting continuity of care during peak census and staffing gaps.
