Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality infusion therapy and patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal communication, particularly in a small, community-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administer IV infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders, clinical protocols, and standards of nursing practice

Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions and intervene as needed

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and symptom evaluation

Educate patients about infusion treatments, potential side effects, and post-treatment care

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Collaborate with providers, nurse supervisors, and clinic staff to ensure continuity of care

Follow all infection control, safety, and medication-handling protocols

Support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services as applicable and within scope of practice

Provide compassionate, personable care that reflects the clinic's community-focused culture

Qualifications

Required

Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Current BLS/CPR certification (as applicable)

Strong IV skills and experience with infusion administration

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-relations skills

TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as applicable)

Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred

Previous experience in infusion therapy

Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Outpatient clinic or ambulatory care experience

Ability to work independently in a smaller, slower-paced clinical environment
