Travel RN Job Details
Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080

Assignment: 13-week travel nursing contract, with potential for an extended assignment

3 shifts per week

Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients

Floating: May float to medical-surgical areas, including other adult units, to care for medical-surgical patients

Documentation: Epic

Cardiac Stepdown Travel Nurse Requirements
At least 2 years of recent PCU, cardiac stepdown, or progressive care nursing experience

Valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license

Oncology nursing experience or OCN, ONS, or ONCC certification preferred

Experience with chemotherapy administration or monitoring preferred

Willingness to work in a collaborative, floating travel nurse environment

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a cardiac stepdown, progressive care, and medical-surgical setting.

Monitor and manage patients with sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, cancer, heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, and other complex diagnoses.

Administer medications and therapies, including IV insulin protocols and chemotherapy-related treatments within scope and competency.

Start and maintain IV access and manage patients requiring advanced monitoring and therapies.

Use Epic to complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and communicate patient updates.

Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Float to designated medical-surgical areas as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate patient care.

Participate in every-other-weekend coverage and support unit operations during assigned night shifts.
