Remote Life Insurance Underwriter

We are seeking a Group Insurance Underwriter, with experience at either a direct Group writer or a Reinsurer. In addition to having regular responsibilities of reinsurance underwriting, we would be looking for this individual to support the broader set of consulting services and market intelligence that Smith Group delivers to clients every day. While Portland, Maine is the preferred location, we will consider other office locations for the right candidate. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in a Guy Carpenter office.

Proactively interact with our clients to support our model of being a first-class service operation

5+ years of experience in Group Insurance underwriting

Sound understanding of reinsurance and its place in Group Insurance

Robust knowledge of the Group product suite - Disability, PFML, Life, Supplemental Health (Dental and Vision a bonus)

Bachelor's Degree

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
