Paver Operator - Paving

This is a highly skilled position involving the control and operation of the asphalt paving machine .
This position will report directly to the Paving Foreman. Based on geographical location this position may require a CDL Tanker and HAZMAT endorsement (Carrollton, KY requires this position have a CDL with a Tanker and HAZMAT endorsement.)
Operate equipment safely and efficiently
Control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine
Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving;
The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor;
~ Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site;

Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task;
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment;
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently;
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and two years related asphalt and road construction experience;
Prior experience with asphalt paving equipment;
Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document;
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. This job is for a portable paving crew requiring extensive travel;
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary;
Be able to work overtime when required;
Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold;
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA;
Previous related experience in construction field is preferred.
