For nearly two decades, the firm has consistently grown by building long-term relationships with privately held businesses and their owners. We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax & Accounting Advisor who wants to be part of that next chapter.
This isn't a back-office tax position where you prepare a return, send it up the chain, and move on to the next file.
You'll work directly with business owners, understand their businesses, own the accounting and tax work behind the relationship, and help clients make better decisions.

In this firm, accountants are client-facing professionals.
Understand not only their tax situation, but how their businesses actually operate
Own client relationships from accounting and compliance through planning and advisory
Help clients understand the story behind their numbers
Participate in advisory conversations involving growth, planning, profitability, succession, and other real-world business decisions
Become a more complete accountant and trusted business advisor
You'll independently manage the day-to-day tax, accounting and compliance needs of a portfolio of privately held businesses and their owners.
Preparing and managing business tax returns, with a strong emphasis on 1065s and 1120s returns
Preparing and maintaining client accounting and bookkeeping along with support from bookkeeping staff
Handling payroll tax and sales tax filings
Working independently across the different accounting and compliance needs of your clients
Helping clients understand their financial information rather than simply delivering it
Identifying issues and opportunities that extend beyond tax compliance
Participating in advisory and planning conversations with business owners
Helping clients think through important decisions involving both their businesses and their futures
You can explain tax and accounting concepts without making the person across the table feel like they need an accounting degree
You enjoy variety and would rather understand the whole client than spend your career specializing in one narrow piece of a tax return
You believe being a great accountant requires both technical ability and people skills
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in both tax and accounting, including:
Approximately 5+ years of public accounting experience
Strong experience preparing 1065, 1120s and 1040 tax returns
Hands-on accounting and bookkeeping experience
Experience working with payroll tax and sales tax compliance
A solid understanding of how financial statements, accounting and tax intersect
A CPA or EA credential is valuable, but we're equally interested in the depth of your experience, your ability to serve clients and the kind of professional you are.

This position is based in the firm's Rockwall office and operates on a hybrid schedule:
Four days each week in the office
One work-from-home day, typically Tuesday or Wednesday
You'll work alongside a close-knit team in an environment where relationships matter, people know one another and accountants are trusted to take ownership of their work and their clients.
We understand that we're approaching the fall tax deadlines, and we're not looking for someone who is willing to walk away from their current team at the worst possible time simply to start a new job.
