Buyer - Full time - Supply Chain Purchasing

The Buying Team plays a critical role in our goal to keep Hawaii fed by providing fresh food products to our customers. You will be responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of products to meet customer order requirements and maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. You are the bridge between the local and mainland producers we support and the customers we service, ensuring that our supply chain remains efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable.

Sourcing and Procurement: Review reports for OOS (out of stocks) and expedite open orders. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages.

Monitor price increases and analyze market trends to ensure competitive pricing and profitability and make informed purchasing decisions.

Build and maintain relationships with local and mainland vendors, ensuring consistent delivery of goods.

Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with operations, distribution, and field teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution to customer sites.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Management or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in food distribution or perishables industry.

Strong understanding of consumable goods and supply chain dynamics for food products especially within Hawaii logistics.

Proficiency in analyzing market trends, pricing, and inventory management including the use of relevant tools (Microsoft Excel, procurement software)

Strong analytical skills and techniques with proficiency in pricing analytics software, Excel, and other relevant tools.
