Description:
The unit consists of 44 beds.
There are 95 staff members working in the unit.
The day shift includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC.
The night shift includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC.
Patient ratios are 4:1 on the grid and can go up to 5:1 when stretched.
The unit uses various types of equipment, including IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts.
The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube insertion, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain placement, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions.
The ideal candidate should be a team player and patient-focused.
Floating may be required to stepdown units and med-surg units.
Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
This position is a contractor replacement.
