High School Visual Art Teacher

Revere High School is seeking a Visual Art Teacher to teach art, such as painting, sketching, designing, and sculpturing; with experience in ceramics and/or digital art/animation. Preferred candidates will hold Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in Visual Art 5-12 and will possess a strong content background, solid classroom management skills, and superior organizational skills.

Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students through visual arts.

Plan, develop and implement art and art history curriculum to meet learning goals.

Maintain inventory of art materials.

Prepare and arrange art materials and art equipment in the classroom for students to use.

Give drawing, painting and ceramics demonstrations to students to teach them art techniques.

Instruct students in working in different drawing, painting, and sculpting techniques.

Provide instruction in the use of pencils, pens, charcoal, brushes, watercolors, acrylic colors, oil colors and other art materials.

Assign art projects to students, grade the finished art projects, conduct art exams and maintain records of the students' progress.

Organize art exhibitions to display the artworks of students and help them develop their art portfolios.

Support the school administration in developing art programs, attend faculty meetings and participate in parent-teacher communications.
