Position Title: Security Guard
Term of Employment: Full-Time, 10 months, with benefits
Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour / Depending on experience
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary The Security Guard helps maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment for students, staff, visitors, and school property and regulates traffic at a high school campus. This position monitors campus activity, enforces district policies, responds to incidents, and supports positive student behavior while building professional relationships within the school community.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Patrol school buildings, parking lots, and campus grounds to ensure safety and security
Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, and visitor access during school hours and events
Enforce school district policies, campus rules, and safety procedures
Assist with student supervision during class periods, after school, and at extracurricular activities as needed
Respond promptly to disturbances, emergencies, fights, trespassing, suspicious activity, and safety concerns.
Inspects for vandalism, theft, arson, assault, drug, and alcohol on campus
Deescalate conflicts using professional communication and conflict-resolution techniques
Prepare accurate written incident reports and maintain daily security logs
Collaborate with administrators, counselors, staff, and local law enforcement when necessary
Assist with emergency drills
