Carpenter For Night Work

The Scenic Carpenter will assist the Technical Direction team in constructing, installing, and dismantling scenery for all Mainstage productions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of power tools, scenic theatrical carpentry, and theatrical rigging.

As part of the Performance Services department, the Scenic Carpenter reports to the Technical Director.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment
Participate in all load-ins, changeovers, and strikes throughout the contract period
BA in Theater or equivalent work experience
Minimum 4 years experience in theatrical carpentry
Read and interpret construction drawings and cut lists
Proficiency in wood construction and theatrical rigging
Oversee overhire and student crew in relationship with the Assistant Technical Director
Indoor environments, some with low light: workshop, control booth, stages, backstage areas, office spaces
Occasional nights and weekends required
