Cashier - Full and Part-time, Hourly

Rivers Co-op Markets is hiring a full-time cashier!
Experience-based pay ranging from $17.75 - $19.06 per hour
Must have availability to work weekends. Candidates without availability to work weekends will not be considered.

As a Cashier, you play a pivotal part in the customer experience - the first person customers see when they enter our store, and the last person they see when they leave. You will process transactions, address customer questions, and maintain a clean and organized store. Union position
Reports to: Customer Service Manager

Provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service, accurate cashiering and cash handling, store security, and smooth store operations.
Answer customer questions about products or services in a friendly, helpful, timely, and accurate manner or refer unsolved questions or problems to appropriate staff.
Maximize efficient check-out techniques, bagging groceries while the customer writes a check, memorizing specials.
Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change when needed.
Maintain Front End department and entryways, ensuring they remain clean and orderly.
Keep outside walkways, loading dock, and sidewalks clear of snow and ice. Take initiative to stock, face, clean, and organize the register area when there are no customers to be checked out.
Assist other departments in non-cashiering tasks as needed without interfering with customer service at the checkout.
A desire to serve customers with kindness and grace.
Experience with and knowledge of natural foods preferred
