Applies and interprets standard scientific theories, concepts, and techniques.

Formulating w/b coatings, including sound deadeners and underbody materials.

obtains approvals from automotive OEMs.

Finds and approves alternative raw materials: Scaling-up to Production. Writing reports for customers.

Runs routine chemical analyses, tests, determinations, and investigations.

Develops solutions to problems (customer and internal)

Utilization of applicable government regulations (DOT, TSCA, FDA, etc.)

Participates in trade shows, conferences, and technical seminars

Guides and mentors the research efforts of less experienced technical staff.

Interacts with other technical staff, sales, business managers, and the outside technical community.

Prepares and presents project reports to customers and project sponsors.

Maintains a lab book according to company standards.

Qualifications BA/MA in Chemistry or related field preferred.

5-15 years of experience working in a lab.

Excel required and QAD or other Systems experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees and customers.
