The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing personalized dietary plans, and providing education on healthy eating habits. The Dietitian will work together with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to incorporate nutritional interventions into the comprehensive patient care plan. The position responsibilities also include building and maintaining relationships with community partners.

Provide nutrition counseling and education to individuals and groups, addressing specific health conditions and dietary concerns. Including but not limited to diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, obesity, malnutrition, and kidney diseases.

Monitor patients' progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.

Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition interventions into overall patient care and providing referrals to healthcare professionals as appropriate.

Participate in community outreach programs to promote nutrition awareness and preventive healthcare.

Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.

Registered Dietitian credentials and state license.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Data Analytics and Assessment Skills : Ability to use data to analyze community health needs and support decisions that improve community health outcomes.

Communication Skills : This competency focuses on using clear and effective communication to engage audiences, address misinformation, and build trust, supporting informed decisions and stronger public health outcomes.

Health Advancement Skills : This competency focuses on applying principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion to public health, addressing systemic barriers, and promoting fair access to resources for healthier communities.

Community Partnership Skills : This competency focuses on collaborating with communities to address the systems and policies affecting health, fostering engagement, shared ownership, and sustainable improvements in well-being.

Public Health Science Skills : This competency focuses on using public health science and evidence-based approaches to develop and improve policies and programs, ensuring effective delivery of the 10 Essential Public Health Services.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

At least one (1) year of experience in nutrition, dietetics or related field.

At least one (1) year of experience in a clinical health setting.

This is a full-time position, funded through special revenue.

Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Expected to travel within Harris County jurisdiction.

This job operates in both a professional office and community environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
