Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (Rn)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the L&D unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to mothers and their newborns during labor and delivery, as well as through postpartum recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Labor and Delivery unit.

Circulate and/or scrub in the operating room for cesarean sections.

Manage obstetrical emergencies effectively.

Monitor patients and titrate drips as necessary, including Pitocin, Lactated Ringer's, Fentanyl, and Labetalol.

Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.

Utilize telemetry systems and read fetal heart rate strips.

Assist in training and mentoring new staff members as needed.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.

Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).

Experience in circulating and/or scrubbing in the operating room for cesarean sections is essential.

Familiarity with common obstetric diagnoses and emergencies such as hypertension and hemorrhage.

Shift Details

This position is for night shifts, specifically from 1845 to 0615. A weekend commitment of every other weekend (or one weekend depending on seniority) is required. Additionally, the role includes two on-call shifts every four weeks.

Operating Room Suites: 1

Triage Beds: 2

Postpartum Beds: 4

Average Births: 850-900 per year

Staffing Ratio adheres to AWHONN guidelines.

Additional Information

Scrubs are provided, and the designated color is purple. Orientation will be provided for all new and incoming employees to the department.
