ADULT PSYCHIATRY LOCUMS NEED (Physician #)

Job Description
Opportunity Details:
An established community hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Adult Psychiatrist (MD/DO) for inpatient coverage on a 14-bed behavioral health unit. The locum physician will serve as the primary (sole attending) psychiatrist, working closely with 1-2 nurse practitioners to deliver comprehensive adult psychiatric care, including crisis intervention and medication management.

Requirements:
Required Skills • MD/DO credential • Board Certified in Psychiatry (ABPN required) • Active New York medical license • Active New York DEA • Inpatient psychiatry experience (required/expected; ABPN required) • Ability to work as the sole physician on the inpatient psychiatric unit • Comfortable with call coverage • BLS certification (active) Nice to Have Skills • Experience collaborating in an inpatient setting with nurse practitioners to support multidisciplinary care and discharge planning Preferred Education and Experience • Preferred: Psychiatry residency training resulting in ABPN Board Certification Experience level: Inpatient psychiatry experience is preferred/expected for readiness to practice independently with NP support
