The Director of Philanthropy is an experienced Development professional who reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Executive Director, Staff, the CRC Board and Lay Leaders to advance our mission by ensuring our financial resources. The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for the full range of CRC's fundraising: the Annual Financial Commitment (AFC), the Endowment campaign, general contributions throughout the year, planned and legacy giving, and grants. As a senior leader in the organization, the Director of Philanthropy serves in a management role with decision-making authority, supervises staff, and provides leadership to others in the organization.

Annual Financial Commitment Campaign and Membership
Manage all aspects of the Annual Financial Commitment (AFC) campaign (the annual process of renewing memberships in the organization) including:
Plan and implement the AFC strategy and processes each year, analyzing and recommending strategies for annual increases and collections
Ensure that email, mailed collateral and phone calls to members are made and payments are received and acknowledged personally and promptly
Maintain accurate data in Salesforce. Engage and manage any outsourced resources hired for this effort
Implement the endowment campaign with support and direction from the Endowment Committee, CRC Board and the Executive Director. Support Relationship Managers including Rabbis, Executive Director and Lay Leaders with providing materials and resources, following up on assignments and subsequent communication with donors as needed/requested for solicitation
Document progress in relationships, solicitations and gifts
Plan and implement fundraising campaigns including the High Holiday giving appeal (including messaging, timing, solicitation, acknowledgement, and follow-up)
Track results by appeal and report on performance year over year
Grants
Develop and manage CRC's grant funding, from identifying prospects through reporting on awards.
Research and identify foundation, corporate and government funding opportunities aligned with CRC's mission and programs
Write and submit letters of inquiry, proposals and supporting materials
Maintain a grants calendar covering application deadlines, reporting dates and renewal cycles
Track all grant data in Salesforce and ensure restricted funds are spent and reported in line with the agreement
Prepare and submit interim and final reports, working with the Business Manager on financial reporting

Minimum 5 years nonprofit work experience with a minimum of 3 years in Philanthropy that includes experience in major gifts, grants, bequests, annual appeals and membership campaigns
Proficiency in Salesforce or donor software such as (DonorPerfect, Raiser's Edge, etc)
Organized and efficient, able to manage multiple projects and concurrent campaigns
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Proficiency in Google Suite
Keeps all information strictly confidential both internally and externally
Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions preferred
