Weekend Oncology Nurse

Overview Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) Locum Tenens opportunity in Springfield, Illinois. Advance your nursing career with a 13-week assignment at a Magnet-designated Level I trauma center, delivering high-quality oncology care in an acute care hospital setting.

Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Oncology Unit (24 beds)

Assignment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift: Day shifts, 12 hours (07:15 – 18:45); Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Charting System: Cerner

Qualifications Active Illinois RN license or in application process

Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Ability to float within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed

Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

First-time travel nurses accepted

Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to adult and geriatric oncology patients

Perform IV therapy and infusion tasks: accessing ports, central/PICC line care, blood product administration

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services, and more

Float to other units as required to meet facility needs
