This position will require some lifting and ladder climbing on occasion while stocking or inventorying the Makerspace. It will also require some event/workshop planning and implementation.
JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Staff the Makerspace during operating hours and assist with afterhours programming as necessary.
Manage Makerspace materials/equipment check‑in/check‑out process.
Assist Makerspace users with questions about supplies and/or equipment.
Enforce safety procedures and monitor equipment use, including items being taken from the room.
Inventory and organize Makerspace supplies, including the unboxing and stocking of new supplies and equipment.
Creating purchase orders for new supplies and equipment for Makerspace.
Troubleshooting and creative thinking.
Knowledge of standard office machines and equipment.
Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Skill in typing/word processing and use of personal computer/software, especially Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Customer service skills and ability to work as member of a team are important.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be in good academic standing.
Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
EXPECTED STARTING SALARY $14.25 hourly.
