Putnam Hospital a 164-bed acute care hospital has been serving the local community in Carmel New York for 60 years. JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrates the knowledge and judgment needed to utilize the nursing process to assess plan implement and evaluate each patients nursing care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure/Registration/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS certification for health care provider ; ACLS preferred

Work Experience: 1 year minimum nursing experience in acute care setting. Completes probationary period with satisfactory evaluation.

Physical & Other Factors: On feet most of the day. Frequent lifting stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment.

Work & Environmental Conditions: Exposed to patients conditions and some unpleasant sights smells and contagious diseases.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt odors noise human waste etc.
