Carpenter for Elbow Rd ProjectArcher Western Construction is currently seeking a Carpenter for the Elbow Rd Project in Virginia Beach, VA. The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for jobsites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects.S. in our Building, Transportation, and Water Divisions, as well as gaining access to industry-leading training. Join the team that is building the infrastructure where you work and live!ResponsibilitiesMeasures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down workPrepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridge, drain structures, walls, and additional structuresMay assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)Uses carpenter's belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machineryQualifications3-5 years verifiable experience preferredRequires ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladderMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditionsRequires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properlyPossess a strong work ethic and desire to learnRequires good manual dexterity; Is committed to providing equal opportunity to qualified applicants with disabilities to compete for jobs.
