Description:

L&D RN - CHARGE NURSE.

This position involves regularly working in the Charge Nurse role.
Candidates must have an RN license in hand for automatic offer.
The unit is a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit.
There are 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 Labor Delivery Rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms.
The average daily deliveries are around 7 but may have up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum.
The OB Triage unit averages 4-5 testing patients in their third trimester, with an influx of triage patients each day.
The facility operates with a Magnet designation and is a Level II Trauma center.
The average number of staff beds is 407.
The charting system in use is Epic.
Weekend coverage is required, with every other weekend expected.
The traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift every two weeks.
Time off requests are approved on an individual basis upon offer.
All time off must be included in the initial submission.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various services including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy, among others.
Patient age groups in the unit include adolescents and adults.
Vaccination requirements specify Hep B vaccines only, with no exemptions accepted.
References covering at least one year within the last three years are required prior to the start.
The traveler must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
Housing options should be explored in the area, as they may be limited.
Modules are required to be completed pre-start and annually, with time spent on modules self-reported.
