Be a part of the Insight Chicago team that provides patient care second to none!Registered Nurse Emergency DepartmentFull-time, 12 hour shift (7 a.m.-rotating shifts). Shift differentials.Uses the nursing process, critical thinking skills, professional judgment, and the attributes of Careful Nursing to provide care for an assigned population of patients.Assesses patient needs to determine care requirements.Plans care and delegates tasks to ancillary personnel based on patient assessment.Evaluates patient response to care provided and make changes in the plan for care as needed.Promotes patient/family independence through the provision of education related to patient's condition, treatment, medications, and ongoing self-care requirements.Synthesizes information and resources to care for complex, higher acuity patients.Completes designated unit-specific competencies.Completes at least 16 hours of continuing education, in addition to mandatory in-service requirements, within the last year that is specific to daily clinical practice.Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and facilitates discharge planning and patient education.A Level II nurse must also demonstrate three of the six criteria below:Demonstrates ability to function as charge nurse.Actively participates as a member or co-chair of organizational and/or unit-specific committees.Acts as a resource for specific specialty areas by providing in-service education, validating competence of peers or unlicensed personnel, and/or precepts new nurses.Provides constructive input for evaluation of unit process and unlicensed personnel.Participates in volunteer or community outreach.Coordinates discharge planning by identifying discharge needs, implementing/revising, and communicating the plan in collaboration with the patient/family/significant others.Discusses patient progress, problems, and needs with physician and multidisciplinary team members regularly to ensure that goals for discharge are met.Assures high levels of quality of care through compliance with regulatory standards, reference to current research related to patient care outcomes, and participation in the data collection and analysis process of ongoing quality monitoring.Uses supplies cost-effectively and efficiently, and works with the management team to make unit supply level adjustments, additions, and revisions.Ensures that care is provided for all patients utilizing the attributes of Careful Nursing.Trustworthy collaborationHealth educationPerfect skill in fostering safety and comfortParticipatory – authoritative managementCarries out other duties related to patient care and unit operations as assigned.Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.A current RN License in the State of Illinois.Benefits:401K401K matching (4%)Dental InsuranceHealth InsuranceLife InsurancePaid time offVision InsuranceMedical Specialties:Emergency carePhysical Setting:Emergency DepartmentLicense/Certification:BLS and ACLS Certification.RN license (Required).Work Location: In person Insight employees are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment, subject to accommodation for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.
