Job Description
Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Cincinnati, OH; Reston, VA; Kansas City, MO; Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $120K-$140K

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer for a growing engineering consulting organization supporting large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects. This opportunity offers exposure to complex facility design work, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term career growth within a highly technical environment.
Job Duties:

Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems
Develop engineering calculations, technical documentation, and construction packages
Coordinate with drafting and design teams to support drawing and model development
Participate in project planning, design reviews, and construction support activities
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders
Conduct occasional site visits, field observations, and assist with issue resolution
Support project scheduling, budgeting, and execution activities on smaller project scopes
Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and project specifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
Experience supporting structural engineering projects within industrial or manufacturing environments
Proficiency with structural analysis/design software such as STAAD, RISA, RAM, or similar platforms
Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation design principles
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Ability to work effectively within collaborative engineering teams
