Physical Therapist Outpatient (Hospital-Based Ortho)

Schedule

Full Time, Work Hours 7:00am – 7:00pm Monday – Friday (varies by clinic). 8‑ or 10‑hour shifts may be available.

Reporting To

Manager, designee – Supervisor or Lead.

Prerequisites

Current or in‑process Washington State PT License or Interim License.

At least two years of current clinical practice experience.

Completed and maintains department- approved advanced certification.

Ability to prioritize tasks for patient care and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Current BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Professional appearance.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set priorities and work accurately and independently.

Ability to communicate and work effectively with patients of all ages, cultural and social backgrounds, and other diversity related contributors.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, plan, implement, and/or delegate comprehensive patient care in orthopedic, pre/post‑surgical, neurological, and health/wellness areas.

Perform evaluations and assessments, integrate information with the health‑care team, set goals and plan of care, and document appropriately.

Provide patient education and assist patients in meeting goals and improving functional skills.

Use telehealth/virtual visits when required.

Collaborate with the care team to adjust treatment plan and provide appropriate information for subsequent providers.

Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and education for PT assistants, exercise specialists, and rehab aides.

Manage authorization, certification, billing, and documentation, meeting standards and deadlines.

Participate in development of new programs, quality improvement initiatives, and community service events.

Maintain patient care areas, follow infection control procedures, and assist in emergency management.

In Lifestyle Medicine roles, assess health risk stratification, collaborate with interdisciplinary team, and incorporate motivational interviewing skills.

Physical & Mental Demands

Requires standing, sitting, crouching, bending, and walking for extended periods. Must lift, carry a minimum of 40 lbs. to assist patients up to 200 lbs. Must recognize own limitations and seek assistance when needed.

Benefits

Salary range $94,894–$156,575 annual DOE. FTE: 1. FLSA: E. Grade: NC11, NC12. Cost Center: 7215, 7253, 7254, 7255.
