Maintenance Mechanic

This is a second shift role. The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of manufacturing equipment within the steel plant. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. The ideal candidate will work closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly. By maintaining equipment in optimal condition, the Maintenance Mechanic contributes to the overall safety and quality of the manufacturing process. Ultimately, this role is vital for sustaining the company's commitment to delivering high-quality products to our customers.

High School Diploma or GED

Some experience in troubleshooting, repair of mechanical equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a heavy industrial setting

Specific experience with mobile equipment, and large stationary equipment desired

Exposure and/or experience to fundamental machining operations and repair considered a plus

Welding and fabrication abilities a plus

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment

Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues

Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime

Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner

Collaborate with other team members to address maintenance needs

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
