Join HII and Mission Technologies where our team works in the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life of RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems to ensure the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH making an impact on the safety of our US Navy ships by working on electrical systems by installing, operating, maintaining maintenance repairs and technical support on shipboard equipment. Support trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization. Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software onboard Aircraft Carriers. Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment.

Candidates who have graduated from and/or completed a vocational school, apprenticeship program or a skilled trades certificate program are preferred.
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
