The Housekeeper maintains a sanitary, safe, and esthetically pleasing environment that will execute the primary mission of patient care for George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center (VASLC) in Salk Lake City (500 S. Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of hospital facilities.
Collect and dispose of trash and medical waste properly, following infection control guidelines.
Restock supplies such as towels, toilet paper, soap, and other essential items in public areas, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, notifying the supervisor when items need to be replenished.
Follow standard procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous materials and adhering to infection control practices.
Minimum 1-2 years of janitorial/housekeeping work in federal, healthcare, or high-traffic commercial environments.
Knowledge of VA or CDC-aligned cleaning protocols, including biohazard disposal and dwell time compliance.
Availability for assigned shifts.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and comply with site security policies.
Have or obtain required immunizations.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
