Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/18/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. 750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • 2 years of nursing experience required with previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred • Patient ratio of 1:5 • 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday) • Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit • Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract • 12 hours of orientation required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Must maintain Epic charting system experience preferred • Floating required to all MSI units including ED to care for inpatient holds • Care for adult and geriatric patients in 31-bed progressive care unit • Work with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response protocols • Experience required in dysrhythmia interpretation and management • Manage IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration • Handle cardiac procedures including post-cardiac catheterization and surgery patients • Provide care for CVA patients, renal failure, and total joint replacement patients • Manage respiratory equipment including chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula • Administer medications including heparin protocols, cardiac drips, and PCA management • Perform wound care and isolation precautions as needed • Must have both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact state license • Maximum 7 days request time off allowed • No more than 90-day gap in employment within past year • Two professional references required from past year Facility: This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center featuring a 31-bed progressive care unit that provides intermediate level care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical floors.
