Phlebotomist PositionThis is a temporary job offer with potential for full-time employmentPosition: Phlebotomist 5798Location: Kernersville NCSchedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pmExpected duration: 3 months or longer with potential for permanent placementDescription:The primary responsibility of a phlebotomist is to aid in executing various assigned tasks, problem solving, training, and providing suggestions to enhance work efficiency.Responsibilities:Experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, specimen centrifugation, maintenance data recording and decontamination, patient information updates, etc.Collect and store specimens following established protocols. Clearly explain venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods (e.g. urine or fecal) as needed.Demonstrate proper techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Comprehend all physician orders. Match requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test order requirements.Validate all test requisitions or labels against scripts for accuracy.Prepare specimens for transportation.Store specimens at required temperatures, place in correct containers/tubes, label accurately, follow specific protocol procedures for transport to preserve specimen integrity. Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.Participate in annual departmental trainings.Handle phone inquiries, interpret laboratory results as needed to address queries.Minimum Requirements:Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state regulationsMinimum of 6 months venipuncture experience in a busy laboratory or hospital settingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred
