Psychiatry, Part-Time Psychiatrist

Psychiatrist – Oceanside Family Counseling Center

Location: 2201 Mission Avenue #100, Oceanside, CA 92058

Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (closed for lunch 12:30pm – 1:30pm)

Responsibilities

Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; ensures documentation meets insurance requirements.

Maintains satisfactory peer reviews, assessing medical information including pathophysiology, patient presentation, differential diagnosis, etc., to facilitate health promotion and disease prevention.

Provides comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with mental illness, emotional disorders, and/or substance abuse.

Examines patients to identify physical disease via physical findings, laboratory results, and medical history when necessary.

Maintains appropriate productivity expectations based on contract, program, or clinic assignment.

Works effectively as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team, communicating with providers, physicians, case managers, scheduling staff, referring providers, and outside agencies in a timely manner.

Coordinates and links psychiatric treatment plans with FHCSD therapy, case management, primary care “medical home,” and community support systems.

Provides consultation and support to primary care providers in integrated behavioral health sites.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Experience with underserved, low‑income, or homeless populations preferred.

Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.

Current CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advanced Resuscitation Training.

DEA license.

Graduate from an accredited medical school; completion of a 3‑year Psychiatry residency or current status as a 3rd‑year resident in a Psychiatry program.

Unrestricted state of California license to practice.

Second‑language fluency in Spanish preferred.
