Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Henderson, NC, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale credentials.
Details

• Medical-surgical unit in a Joint Commission accredited, 205-licensed-bed acute care hospital
• 48-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio and high patient turnover
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekends required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may occasionally be required to inpatient rehab or the ER for tasking, though rare and unlikely
• EMR: Paragon
• 13-week contract

Requirements
Active RN license in NC or a Compact state currently in hand
Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
At least 1 prior completed travel assignment required
Proficiency in IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion
Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips
Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
Additional Information
Care for a general adult medical-surgical population with a high-volume, high-turnover caseload
Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred
The facility holds an 'A' LeapFrog Hospital Safety Rating and is part of the Duke LifePoint Health system
Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
Candidates who are currently employed full time elsewhere are not eligible
Orientation dates are scheduled bi-monthly — candidates should confirm availability for the appropriate session
