Seeking an experienced attorney, thisrole is a direct report operating under the direction and supervision of the SVP, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of the Company.

Prepare and negotiate commercial contracts, amendments and other legal agreements for the sales channels and all Company departments, as needed.

Act as a strategic partner to drive growth agenda for matters involving marketing, operations, credit, finance, collections, dealer management, compliance, insurance, customer ambassadors and the customer care.

Support and advise the business teams in building new products, programs, and services.

Review relevant legal implication of existing day-to-day operational activities of the Company.

Provide legal counsel in general corporate matters, corporate governance, and prospective transactions to support daily operations and minimize risk exposure to the Company.

Contact state regulators to update Company info and resolve state level audits.

Perform licensing and regulatory compliance research.

Provide legal support and advice concerning regulatory and compliance matters including GLBA, UDAAP, TCPA, FDCPA, FCRA, ECOA, and other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements of the Company.

Manage and/or prepare Company subpoena responses, discovery requests, and varied litigation work.

Contribute to discussions and provide guidance of corporate litigation and compliance strategy with executive team.

Collaborate with HR, tax, marketing finance, operations, and servicing on strategic planning, communication, and documentation review.

Serve as a member of various internal committees with a focus on legal and regulatory review.

Member in good standing of a state bar with ability to waive into a New Jersey in-house counsel license.

Minimum of 5+ years of total legal experience with significant experience in the commercial equipment lease financing industry.

Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and state guidelines, rules, and regulations applicable to the equipment leasing and financing industry.

Proficient with Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Also proficient in navigating NMLS and state licensing websites.

Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, customer service, and communication with all parties involved in the equipment leasing life cycle.

Must have the ability to evaluate legal issues from a business and legal prospective and develop a process where the business unit leaders will look to the deputy general counsel as a key team member in the development of new strategies and concepts.

Laurel, NJ office, three days a week, with two days remote.
