Machinist, Production - 2nd shift

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Machinist in Mesa, Arizona for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite 2nd shift position supports precision machining operations in a production environment. The role focuses on setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining quality and safety standards while producing metal components to exact tolerances.

5 years of CNC machining experience in a production environment

• Experience setting up and running CNC lathes and mills
• Ability to adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts
• Experience inspecting parts for conformance using gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Ability to visually inspect parts for burrs or damaged machined surfaces
• Basic computer skills for work instructions and timekeeping
• Experience applying lean concepts and identifying process improvement opportunities
• Experience maintaining equipment for cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability
• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills

Machine metal parts, mechanisms, tools, and components to exacting tolerances

Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to complete work accurately

De-burr and inspect finished parts using standard inspection equipment

Measure, mark, and lay out stock for machining as needed

Support quality verification in accordance with process control requirements

Work Schedule / Shift

• Monday through Thursday
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
