Temp Logistics Dispatcher

LHH is seeking a Trucking Dispatch Specialist in Atlanta, GA. This role will support Trucking & Cross Border operations serving Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Contract Logistics divisions. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for a logistics professional who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving processes, and making a direct impact on business results.

The Trucking Dispatch Team Lead is responsible for leading Trucking & Cross Border activities, supporting first-mile and final-mile transportation requirements for Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Contract Logistics operations. This individual acts as a central point of contact for truck transportation activities and ensures internal and external customer requirements are met through exceptional service and operational excellence.

This role is part of a regional team supporting multiple locations across the United States and requires collaboration with both domestic and international stakeholders.

Operations & Dispatch Management

Manage end-to-end trucking dispatch activities.

Support airport, seaport, and cross-border transportation requirements.

Manage carrier relationships and vendor performance.

Serve as the primary transportation resource for Air, Ocean, and Contract Logistics teams.

Ensure service levels are maintained while meeting customer expectations.

Leadership & Process Improvement

Provide daily guidance and support to the trucking team.

Lead through influence, collaboration, and process improvement.

Assist with employee training and knowledge development.

Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.

Manage local and regional transportation providers, including:

Monitor transportation KPIs and vendor performance.

Develop operational reports using multiple data sources.

Utilize Excel to support reporting, vendor analysis, and operational decision making.

5+ years of trucking, dispatch, transportation, or logistics experience.

Experience within freight forwarding strongly preferred.

Experience supporting domestic and international transportation operations.

Understanding of trucking operations and carrier management.

Exposure to Air Freight, Ocean Freight, or both is highly desirable

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.

Reporting and data analysis tools

Experience with third-party logistics software is a plus.
