We offer a full range of acute care services including cardiology, vascular, thoracic, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, surgery, and more.

The Acute Care Units are currently seeking experienced PCU Nurses or applicants with telemetry, ICU, medical/surgical or similar acute care background. Units cover cardiac, neuro, GI, orthopedics, oncology as suitable.

We offer full‑time, part‑time, and per diem positions. Full‑time is three 12‑hour shifts per week, part‑time is two 12‑hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends/holidays and self‑scheduling. Per diem requires a minimum of two shifts per month and at least one year recent PCU experience.

We also offer an 18% night shift differential and a flat $3/hour weekend shift differential. Sign‑on bonuses are available: $20,000 for full‑time night shifts, $10,000 for full‑time day shifts, and 50% of the full‑time bonus for part‑time. Per diem does not receive a sign‑on bonus.

Position Summary This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice, utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. The role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others under their direction. The role utilizes specialized knowledge, judgement, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Core Functions Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family, ensures completion within appropriate timeframe, reviews other team data, diagnostics, and laboratory results, reporting abnormal findings to physicians and other caregivers. Completes assessments and reassessments per patient need and policy.

Formulates a plan of care, including discharge, based on assessment data and patient/family input. Initiates care plans aligned with patient‑specific needs and medical plan. Considers physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age‑specific, and educational needs. Implements the plan through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team. Provides care per physician orders and nursing plan, complying with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. Delegates appropriately and oversees nursing supervision. Communicates patient status to other caregivers for continuity of care.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plan as needed. Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely, and policy‑compliant, reflecting objective/subjective data, nursing interventions, patient responses, and accurate physician orders.

Provides evidence‑based care and may participate in research activities. Participates in unit/facility shared leadership. Contributes to society by improving patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Participates in improving national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, including membership in professional organizations.

Interacts with all levels of staff in various departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts such as other health care institutions, community providers, and agencies. Works with clergy for spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to support patient and family response to health status changes.

Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim RN or compact RN licensure). Must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations. Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year acute care hospital experience; experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a registered nurse.
