Buyer, Flexible Packaging Procurement

Our certified products are utilized across many applications, including building, packaging, and automotive. We have 5 manufacturing plants in 5 countries and belong to the Alpek family. Alpek is the largest petrochemical group in America.
We are currently seeking a Strategic Buyer for our facility in Painesville, OH.
Styropek's Painesville plant is located about 30 miles northeast of Cleveland, OH. The site manufactures Expandable Polystyrene products used in the construction and packaging industries.

This position is responsible for services, MRO items, raw material, packaging, and assigned capital procurement portfolios. This position also provides leadership, coaching and guidance to the Tactical Buyer.
Lead RFQs, bid packages, commercial evaluations, bid analyses, and award recommendations.
Manage supplier relationships through business reviews, performance metrics, and continuous improvement plans.
Monitor supplier financial health, market conditions, supply risks, capacity constraints, and cost drivers.
Coordinate raw material qualifications, supplier approvals, and confidentiality agreements activities.
Work closely with Engineering, Technology, Maintenance, Operations, and Finance on capital projects and strategic initiatives.
Support supplier selection, commercial evaluation, negotiations, and implementation of capital project contracts.
Manage requisitions, purchase orders, invoice resolution, SAP reporting, pricing updates, and procurement analytics.
Track procurement savings, service metrics, delivery performance, technology projects, and sourcing opportunities.
Coordinate daily supply issues and ensure continuity of supply for manufacturing operations.
Identify opportunities for supplier development, standardization, process optimization, and risk reduction.
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years related experience and continued professional development OR 10+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience and continued professional development
Strategic thinking, planning, and analytical skills to understand supply market dynamics, generate purchasing strategies, effectively negotiate agreements, and implement solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problems
Experience with third-party contractor qualification companies such as ISNetworld a plus
Working knowledge or proficiency in SAP
