Registered Nurse (RN) - General Job Duties

Clinical Care Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories

Develop and implement individualized patient care plans

Administer medications safely according to physician orders and protocols

Perform treatments and procedures (wound care, IV starts, catheterizations, etc.)

Monitor patients' conditions and report changes to the healthcare team

Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively

Document all care provided in the electronic health record system

Educate patients and families about health conditions

Teach self-care techniques and health maintenance strategies

Coordination of Care

Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals

Facilitate patient transfers between units or to other facilities

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences

Arrange for necessary post-discharge services and follow-up care

Administrative Duties

Manage inventory of supplies for assigned patients

Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Stay current with evidence-based nursing practices

Participate in training on new equipment and procedures

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements Education and Licensures
