Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

Hospital-based Emergency Department with 52 beds plus a 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit providing 24/7 all-ages emergency care

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:2 with approximately 196 admissions per day

Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am

12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly

On-call required if needed, approximately 1 shift per pay period

Weekend coverage required for 4 shifts within a 6-week period

Holiday coverage required if needed

Requirements

Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license

Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department experience

Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)

ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required

CPI-B certification required

Experience with point of care testing, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Additional Information

Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director

Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting

Perform bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan

Assess patient needs including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and continuously improve patient care

Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development

Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
