Application Deadline: July 29, 2026, 5:00 P.The Idaho State Bar (ISB) and Idaho Law Foundation (ILF) seek an experienced, organized, and reliable Finance Manager to serve as the organizations’ primary liaison with their outsourced finance and accounting consultants.
The Finance Manager will be a key member of the management team and a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Boards of Commissioners and Directors, and senior staff. The position coordinates financial workflows, ensures timely and accurate exchange of information, and administers employee benefits. While the outsourced consultant performs accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliation, month-end close, and financial statement preparation, the Finance Manager is responsible for facilitating the information and approvals necessary for those functions. The position supports and facilitates the general accounting, budgeting, audit coordination, investment coordination, banking, payroll, benefits administration, cash management, internal controls, financial reporting, procurement, and asset management of the organizations.The position reports to the Deputy Director.
The Idaho State Bar is a self-governing state agency charged with regulation of the legal profession, including bar admissions, licensing, continuing legal education, and lawyer discipline.
The Idaho Law Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, serves as the charitable arm of the Idaho State Bar. Support accounting operations conducted by consultants, including internal controls, AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and close;
Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and the outsourced finance/accounting consultant;
Coordinate transmission of invoices, supporting documentation, approvals, and other financial records;
Receive, process, log, safeguard, and prepare cash receipts and/or electronicdeposits;
Scan and organize invoices and financial documents and maintain electronic records;
Coordinate payroll information, salary amounts, time allocation, and benefit deductions with the consultants and management;
Coordinate with staff regarding purchasing, reimbursements, payroll, and financial procedures;
Track outstanding requests from consultants and/or management and ensure timely completion of accounting and financial workflows;
Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and personnel information;
Recommend and document improvements to financial workflows and processes;
Support coordination of audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance;
Support investment coordination, banking relationships, and cash flow monitoring and analysis;
Act as liaison with insurance carriers, brokers, retirement vendors, and employees;
Maintain benefit records and reconcile benefit-related information with payroll;
Maintain financial software and manage updates, integrations, or migrations;
Fixed asset inventory;
A steady, capable professional who combines technical excellence with emotional intelligence, practical judgment, customer service, and ethics. Comfortable with both clerical and strategic tasks. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting, finance, human resources, and/or administrative experience;
- Experience with bookkeeping, budgeting, reporting, internal controls, and benefits administration;
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills;
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, accounting & payroll software (including but not limited to Dynamics GP, ADP Run, and Sage Intaact), and Microsoft Office;
- Ability to hit the ground running, sustain a fast-paced workflow, and manage multiple concurrent projects; Willingness to use and adapt to rapidly changing technology as part of an ongoing organizational transformation and to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field;
- Knowledge of GAAP and accrual/fund accounting;
- Experience with nonprofit, governmental, association, or regulated entity accounting;
- Experience serving as a liaison between an organization and its outsourced accounting apparatus; Data querying and visualization experience and skill.
This position is based in Boise, Idaho and requires a regular in-office presence. Limited remote flexibility may be available depending on organizational needs after successful onboarding. Rare evening or weekend hours and limited travel may be required.
